The Russian Convoy (Visit our Blog)
2010. Venture supported by the Rotary Clubs of Appleby and Upper Eden. The Mission
As with previous enterprises cars are be acquired for under £100. Departing on the 25th July 2010 the plan is to drive 3,000 miles to Murmansk, taking in as many countries as possible on our way across Europe. Once in Murmansk the vehicles will be donated to the local Rotary Club to raise funds at auction to fund local good causes. The trip is to be completed in 10 days. We travel home by rail/air.
We are waiting for a response from Murmansk Rotary Club as to what charitable goods they would like us to take for them. It will be interesting to see what they come back with.
As the Russians send us Ladas it seemed appropriate that we take them British cars. 3 Rovers are currently being sought – one white, one red and one blue.
The Team
With a successful trip to Timbuktu under our belt it seemed appropriate that the full Mali Aid team of Alan, Arthur, Carl, Gerald, John and Roger should continue their adventures.
